Where It All Began

Some of my earliest memories are in the kitchen — standing on a stool, whisk in hand, next to my grandmothers. Flour on the counter, laughter in the air, and the smell of something sweet baking in the oven.

Those moments taught me that baking isn’t just about ingredients — it’s about love, connection, and creating joy for others.

A Creative Spark That Never Faded

As I grew older, my dad encouraged my creative side — he’d be my willing taste-tester as I experimented with new flavours, textures, and bold combinations.

What started as a family pastime quickly became a lifelong passion, and eventually, the foundation for Dot and Whisk.

Dot and Whisk was born from that same love of creativity and care — with a mission to make every person feel included in life’s celebrations.

Why Allergy-Friendly Baking Matters

My focus on allergy-friendly baking comes from personal experience. When I met my now husband and found he had a lactose intolerance and later our daughter was diagnosed as gluten intolerant, I saw first-hand how difficult it can be to navigate birthdays, parties, and family gatherings when dietary needs set you apart.

I know the isolation those moments can create — watching others enjoy something you can’t. That’s why I became determined to create cakes that everyone can enjoy — full of flavour, beauty, and joy, without compromise.

Every allergy-friendly cake I make is crafted with care, understanding, and the belief that everyone deserves to feel included in life’s sweetest moments.

From Passion to Purpose

Over the years, that passion has grown into a purpose. I’ve continued to invest in my skills, learning from some of the best in business and creativity through events like Business Mania, and training with Big Business Events and Rebel Business School.

Along the way, I’ve been honoured to be recognised as a finalist for the Woman Who Solopreneur Awards, SBA Best Bakery, and SBA Best Home-Based Business. But the true reward is always seeing the joy on someone’s face when they realise they can finally enjoy cake again — safely and deliciously.
